Picking up matches off the floor.

"He'll be in his car. The window will be rolled down, the music will be on and he'll
be passed out in the front seat."

In my bedroom there is paper and a scalpel, spray-paint and a mask that we sprayed
through onto my t-shirt. Two empty wine glasses that had whiskey in them.
In the living room there are cds on the floor, wine glasses and bottles and
champagne corks, cigarette ends and the butts of joints, laughter and me sitting
down at the table and hurling some comment out. Then there's the explosion of
people talking. Everyone machine-gunning it out. Everyone is included. All of us
spitting it out at the same time until I'm in hysterics over all the fuss and noise and
wine, pasta made with an Arrabiata sauce made with honey and Tabasco.
She's on the other side of the table and I stare at her until through the noise she sees
me smiling.

Jo's in my bedroom spraying nunchaka's onto my t-shirt.
